What really changes your result
Focus, identity and the living world
These systems are easy to confuse. Here is exactly which ones change an outcome and which ones are collection details.
Directly changes result weights and specimen size
Fish focus increases catches and multi-catches; Rare moves weight toward premium loot and expands the normal specimen ceiling from 1.30x to 1.55x common size (capped at 88% of the species maximum), with a +0.08 size-percentile push; Safe converts shark injury into a miss; Balanced averages Safe and Fish. A full Hotspot uses the upper 72%-100% size range.
Identity, not a hidden buff
Hunting traits are collectible identity labels only; they do not change loot, combat or Server Apex contribution. Fish scientific names are identity information, not bonuses.
Featured fish receive extra pool copies
Low, Rising, High and Falling Tide add 1, 3, 4 and 2 featured-school copies. Let It Run also doubles your local regional-fish copies.
No effect on fishing
Fishing does not progress or alter Server Apex. Use tide, featured school, focus, tool and Bait when planning a cast.
